It all started at home:

I come from a musical family. My dad teaches jazz saxophone and high school bandm and my mom plays marimba and drum set. My big sister used to play the violin, and when I was very young, I started sneaking into her room to play it when she wasn't looking. My parents got me my own instrument and Suzuki lessons when I was four, and the rest is history.

Other musical inclination:

I have training as a bass singer and, if you want to get fancy, in vocal percussion.

Favrorite performance memory:

That's a tie between two experiences. The first was playing Mahler's Resurrection Symphony with the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra in my senior year. We were really pumped up! The second was singing the University of Rochester YellowJackets alumni song during Meliora Weekend in my final year with the group. The opportunity to represent over fifty years of musical tradition and brotherhood was a privilege I'll never forget.
